Brighton Beach

HOT, HOT, HOT.

Yesterday New York had a heat wave of 90 deg. F.

Needless to say, the Brown fam  (minus dad :( ) went to Brighton Beach, a highly Russian-populated area with a long boardwalk. Brighton St. is long, densely populated with stores, and under the subway. Turkish stores, groceries with fresh fruits and vegetables, small boutiques both fancy and casual, and people walking all over were characteristic as we drove through. Turning a corner we parked and walked up to the wide boardwalk which I think stretches down the beach to Coney Island Beach to the west and Rockaway Beach in the east.

Today is going to be HOT as well, so we will be hitting the beach again. This time though, we will drive past Brighton into Long Beach in search of a less populated area. Brighton's sand was soft and water clear, but the people were a little too close for comfort. Although, as Seb testifies from running to Coney Island Beach, not as dense as having to stop running for fear of tripping over a spread of bodies.
